You can't deny that the past few days in the Northland have been a little brisk. Over the weekend, it even got downright chilly in parts of Duluth!

It's been a pretty warm summer so far. A few weekends stick out when it comes to brutal temperatures, including the Fourth of July. There's also been times when heat advisories were in effect all across the state!

This is the time of the year when temperatures start to cool off a bit and we all anxiously await the moment when we get our first frost. If the Old Farmer's Almanac is right about that, we still have some time.

Now, with fall in the air, the Farmer's Almanac has shared their winter outlook for the 2025 - 2026 season. Keep reading for a breakdown if you dare!

Farmer's Almanac Predicts A 'Wild Ride' For The Winter Ahead

This doesn't sound good. Let's start with the temperatures in their outlook. According to their outlook, we will see two major cold snaps: the first will be in mid-January and another will move in just in time for mid-February.

Unfortunately, Minnesota will also see some of the coldest temperatures, along with other states along the Northern Plains and the Northwest. Yikes but at least we are used to it, right?

Farmer's Almanac Predicts 'Winter Wonderland' For Minnesota

So what about snow? The Farmer's Almanac says that our region can expect a 'classic winter wonderland' type of winter. We are used to that and there is no mention of any major snow events so maybe we are in the clear!

Overall, the Farmer's Almanac says we can expect a very snowy and very cold winter. We have been spoiled over the past few years so we are due for a rough winter. However, we will have to wait and see what happens.
