Huge Retailer With 11 Minnesota Locations Plans Mass Closures
It's just a sign of the times. A major retailer has announced some sad news: they will be closing 150 locations in the near future, with 50 of those locations closing by the end of 2024.
Macy's Plans A Revamp Of Their Brand And Strategy
Macy's will be closing stores nationwide but it isn't all bad news. They will be rebranding, and laid out their future plans in a press release issued on Wednesday (February 27th).
Some of those plans include modernizing the remaining stores, focusing more on online sales and transforming some of the smaller stores.

As of now, Macy's has not said which stores will be getting the axe. However, there are eleven Minnesota locations that could be on the chopping block in the following destinations:
- Bloomington
- Burnsville
- Edina - three stores
- Maplewood
- Minnetonka
- Rochester
- Roseville - two stores
- Saint Cloud
Wisconsin has fewer locations, with four stores across four different locations, including the following:
- Appleton
- Greendale
- Madison
- Wauwatosa
What's Next?
We will keep you updated on which Macy's locations, if any, will be closing in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The big business plans to keep about 350 stores in business for now.
