Make-A-Wish Foundation Helped A Young Wisconsin Girl Meet Her Idol
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has made the lives of critically ill children a little brighter by helping grant a wish that they may have. For one young girl in Wisconsin her wish came true to meet one of her favorite actresses of all time.
Her name is Amara Lehman and she lives in Brookfield, WI a suburb of Milwaukee. Her passion is acting and one of her favorite actors happens to be Kristen Bell. Last year when Amara was 12 years old she was diagnosed with "Lymphoma which is a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the body's germ-fighting network."
During her cancer treatments, Amara worked with Make A Wish-Wisconsin to arrange for her to meet Kristen Bell and in January of this year her dream came true. Amara spoke with FOX6 saying:
It didn’t feel like I was talking to this person I had only ever like thought of and dreamed of. It was like she’s a real person. Not just someone you see on screen or on TV.: FOX6 Via YouTube
She went on to say that Bell did give her some acting advice like don't get to attached to the character you are playing and let your emotions become their emotions. Amara left Los Angeles with some great memories and an autographed t-shirt signed by Bell. When asked if she will ever wear it she said probably not since she tends to spill on her shirts, so she will just keep it in a safe place.
Amara is now 13 and in remission, so hopefully she will be able to get back on the stage to perform and do what she loves. Of all the celebrities that she could admire I think she picked an awesome person as Kristen Bell seems super down to earth and someone who is a great role model for young girls.
