Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a motorcycle crash near Rochester that was discovered earlier this week by a utility worker.

The utility worker came upon the victim at the intersection of Olmsted County Road 3 and 100th Street Northwest, approximately 3 miles west of Oronoco, around 9:15 AM on Monday. A motorcycle and debris were also found at the scene.

Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Malinda Hanson indicated the utility worker located the victim in a ditch, out of view from regular traffic, next to the motorcycle. The tragic incident is believed to be a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that likely occurred sometime between 2 PM last Saturday and when the crash site was discovered Monday morning.

Lieutenant Hanson issued an update today identifying the man as 58-year-old Chadd Alfred Mayer of Kasson.

Another motorcycle crash yesterday claimed the life of a St. Charles man. The State Patrol says 52-year-old Robert Warren Jackley was killed when his westbound motorcycle collided with an eastbound pickup on Highway 14 near the intersection with Chester Avenue east of Rochester.
