Dodge Center, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man and woman were hospitalized after the motorcycle they were on struck a deer on a southeast Minnesota highway.

The State Patrol responded to the motorcycle-deer collision in Dodge County around 8:40 Wednesday night. 

It occurred on Hwy. 14 on the western edge of Dodge Center.

Kasson Man & Hayfield Woman Taken to St. Mary's Hospital After Motorcycle Strikes Deer on Hwy. 14

44-year-old Darek Alan Davidson of Kasson was identified as the motorcycle driver. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.

His passenger was identified as 45-year-old Jamie Jo Fritz. The Hayfield woman also was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Alcohol was not involved in the crash and neither Davidson or Fritz were wearing helmets, the state crash report indicates. 

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Dodge Center Ambulance and Dodge Center Fire also responded to the motorcycle-deer crash.
