
Recent Rash of Suspected Drug Overdoses Continues in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police responded to another suspected drug overdose this morning.
Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 11th Avenue Northwest around 11:20 AM and found a man who had collapsed outside. Is not known how long he had been there. The National Weather Service reported that the temperature was about five below zero and the wind-chill was close to -20 at the time.
Grayson says the 25-year-old Rochester man had difficulty responding to the officers and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The responding officers reported finding evidence of drug use at the scene.

Last week, another young man was rushed to the emergency room after an apparent drug overdose at a home in northeast Rochester. In that case, Rochester police reported the 20-year-old man was found on the floor in a home and was successfully revived by paramedics.

The previous week, a 52-year-old Rochester man died of a suspected drug overdose in the 5200 block of Pinehurst Lane Northwest. Earlier the same day, Rochester police reported using Narcan to revive an unresponsive 19-year-old woman at a residence in Northeast Rochester after possibly ingesting cocaine containing fentanyl.
