
Detour Starts Monday for Roundabout Installation at Rochester Intersection
An evaluation of the intersection found traffic flow would be improved by replacing the current four-way stop with a multi-lane roundabout, according to the City of Rochester’s construction website.
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Another road construction project in Rochester is set to start on Monday.

The latest road work is to accommodate the installation of a roundabout at an intersection that is currently controlled by a four-way stop sign.
Once completed it will be the second of two new roundabouts in the Rochester area. The other is north of town at the intersection of Hwy. 63 and 18th Ave. Northwest.

Traffic has been detoured away from that intersection since late May. Officials will close the intersection during the project. The project is scheduled to wrap up this month.
4th St./19th Ave. SE Intersection in Rochester to Close Monday for Roundabout Installation
Starting August 4, the intersection of 4th St. Southeast and 19th Ave. Southeast will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians.
The City of Rochester says wayfinding signs will be in place for motorists seeking Olmsted Medical Center.
The detour route includes East Circle Dr., Hwy. 14 and 15th Ave. Southeast.
