Rochester Man Who Listed Cocaine For Sale on Snapchat Sentenced
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man who was accused of advertising cocaine for sale on social media has been given a stayed prison sentence.
Olmsted County Court records show that in addition to the 73 month stayed prison term, 25-year-old Demontae Bragg has also been placed on probation for five years.
He previously entered a guilty plea to a first-degree drug charge in exchange for the dismissal of another felony drug count stemming from a Rochester Police Department investigation. Court documents indicate the investigation was conducted in December 2021 after a police informant told investigators about the Snapchat posts advertising cocaine for sale.
The criminal complaint says the police informant conducted two controlled buys from Bragg. The first involved just under 29 grams of cocaine and the second transaction was for just over 4 grams of the drug. Both drug deals occurred in the 1000 block of North Broadway.
