4 Armed Minnesota Teens Arrested After Shooting, Chase, & Crash
Brooklyn Park, MN (KROC-AM News) - Police in a Minneapolis suburb say more than 30 shots were fired during an incident Saturday night that led to a police chase, a crash, and the arrests of four juveniles.
A statement issued by the Brooklyn Park Police Department says officers responded to Willowstone Park around 10:45 PM after dispatchers received multiple citizen reports of gunfire. As the officers were arriving at the park, they spotted numerous vehicles leaving at high rates of speed. They also recovered a handgun that had been thrown out of one of the vehicles.
More Than 30 Shots Were Fired
The news release says one of the vehicles fled from officers but eventually crashed at a nearby roundabout intersection. Brooklyn Park Police apprehended two juvenile suspects at the site of the crash and indicated they were in the possession of two handguns.
Two other juveniles were caught while officers searched the park. The police statement says they were also in possession of two handguns. It also says the juvenile suspects found at the site of the car crash were transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting, but Brooklyn Park Police found damage from gunfire inside and outside of a community building at the park.
