A vigil for the father of three boys is happening Sunday evening in Algona.

Detention records indicate he was booked into jail shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday.

The caller in the vehicle struck by gunfire reported that one of his vehicle’s windows had been shot out.

The incident occurred on the night of September 2.

He was scheduled to be sentenced on Monday.

Two of the suspects are teenage boys, ages 14 and 16.

Police say the gunfire appeared to have broken out during a fight involving multiple 15-20 years olds.

The reports came in around 8:15 p.m.

The child struck by the gunshot was taken to a hospital.

Prosecutors say a key witness in the case vanished shortly after being released from prison on intensive supervised release.
