
Update: State Patrol Identifies Victim of Fatal Dump Truck Crash Near Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the southeast Minnesota man who lost his life in a crash with a dump truck on Tuesday.

It happened around 2:20 p.m. on Hwy. 63 about a mile north of the 75th St. roundabout intersection, which is northeast of Rochester.
The deadly crash closed Hwy. 63 in both directions for over five hours to allow law enforcement to investigate. The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced the highway's reopening shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
A northbound pick-up collided with a southbound dump truck, the preliminary state crash report said.

State Patrol Identifies Zumbro Falls Man Killed in Crash With Dump Truck on Hwy. 63 Near Rochester, MN
On Wednesday morning the State Patrol identified the driver of the pick-up as 30-year-old Andrew Jay Johnson of Zumbro Falls. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
80-year-old Gerald Henry Pulver of Rochester was identified as the dump truck operator. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Both Johnson and Pulver were wearing their seatbelts, the updated state crash report says.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Elgin Fire Department, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene of the deadly collision.
