My brain is having a hard time grasping what I saw this morning.

As I was getting my coffee ready, I saw something pop up that was pretty unbelievable.  I heard that snow was coming back this weekend to our lovely area in Southeast Minnesota.  Yesterday, we heard that over 12 inches could be dropped on Rochester, which I thought was already horrible.

What I saw this morning is making me want to curl up in a ball under my weighted blanket and not show my face until next Wednesday.

Winter Storm Could Dump 20+ Inches Of Snow in Southeast Minnesota This Weekend

According to Weather Underground, it is predicted that we will get over 17 inches of snow between Saturday and Sunday.

But according to the weather station sitting in our office at home, we could see 27.5 inches on Sunday alone.

Some people are rejoicing at this news.

Others...like me...just opened up their fridge and realized that if this storm hits as hard as the predictions above, a trip to the store needs to happen ASAP.

These Are The 10 Items Everyone in Southeast Minnesota Is Panic-Buying Right Now

About 60% of people have said that their anxiety starts to rise about running out of supplies as soon as they hear a storm is about to hit.  Everyone doesn't immediately rush to a store to stock up, but about 25 to 36% of households do...including me...this morning.

Before I left for work, I put in my Walmart+ order, and I plan on stopping at Kwik Trip on my way home tonight.

If you need a quick guide on what to buy before the storm hits, below are the top 10 items that are seeing an uptick in purchases when the words "severe weather" are added to our forecast.

Top 10 Items People in Minnesota Stock Up On When They Hear "Storm"

I am pretty sure that as soon as the word "storm" shows up in the forecast, people in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin are just trained to hop in their cars and go to the store. Stocking up on supplies becomes our #1 priority and we shop like we have absolutely nothing in our house to eat. So, we will up our carts with all "the things" and hope we grabbed enough to make it through the storm.

FYI - we will make it through the storm, and some of us will do that with Double Stuffed Oreos. Some of us will not...because the store shelf was empty by the time we got there.

Below are a few of the top items that we grab at the last minute before the storm hits.
