Delta Just Upgraded Its Nonstop Flights From MSP to Aruba
If you're looking at heading someplace warm this winter, Delta Air Lines can help, because they just announced they're adding several new enhancements on their nonstop flights from Minnesota to Aruba.
Winters in the Land of 10,000 Frozen Lakes are long, cold, and snowy. (Ok, our past several winters weren't *quite* as snowy as usual, but still...) So if you're looking to break things up with a warm-weather trip this winter, Delta Air Lines will make it even more enjoyable, with several new enhancements to their new nonstop service from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Oranjestad, Aruba (AUA).
How Many Nonstop Destinations Does MSP Airport Offer?
Flying nonstop from MSP is great and offers a lot of destinations that can be reached without having to catch a connecting flight elsewhere. In fact, in its 2025 annual report, the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which owns MSP, says airlines there served 166 nonstop destinations from the North Star State in 2025, an increase from 163 in 2024.

And now, those direct flights to Aruba are in line for a serious upgrade. Delta said it's enhancing its MSP to AUA service this winter with a more convenient schedule and upgraded onboard experience.
Delta Upgrades Schedule and Aircraft for MSP to Aruba Route
Delta said its MSP to AUA flights will now operate on Saturdays from Dec. 19, 2026, through April 11, 2027, a change from last year’s Friday/Sunday pattern. Delta said that the change will allow the airline to better match customer preferences.
Additionally, Delta announced that the MSP to AUA route will be operated on Delta’s state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo, which provides Minnesota travelers with a more modern and comfortable way to reach Aruba, where you can unwind on Eagle Beach, snorkel in the blue waters of Baby Beach, explore Arikok National Park, and more.

These updates to the Delta's MSP to AUA flight schedule and aircraft reflect Delta’s focus on using customer insights to refine schedules while delivering a premium experience for Minnesotans flying from MSP during peak leisure travel months.

While 15 different airlines offer service at MSP, Delta by far offers the most. And I still kind of think of Delta as a 'Minnesota' airline, seeing as it merged with Minnesota's Eagan-based Northwest Airlines back in 2008.
Delta Air Lines’ Deep History and Impact in Minnesota
And Delta is a major employer in Minnesota. Currently, 7,026 Minnesotans work for Delta Air Lines in the North Star State, and together, they served over 24 million passengers in 2025, flying to over 150 nonstop destinations from MSP.
However, If you're like me, you may not know how to pronounce all those foreign destinations MSP serves. However, you likely *do* know how to correctly pronounce the uniquely Minnesotan names of some of our cities here in the Gopher State, right? Keep scrolling to see how many YOU know how to say.
