MN Coffee Shop’s First Location Outside Twin Cities Now Open in Rochester
A Minnesota-based coffee shop just opened in Rochester-- its first location outside the Twin Cities.
If you've gotta have a jolt of java, you now have another choice here in Minnesota's Med City, because a new coffee shop just opened its doors in Rochester. And this location happens to be the first location for this Twin Cities-based coffee outside the Minneapolis-St. Paul area too.
Spyhouse Coffee just opened its doors Wednesday, December 14th here in Rochester. It's located on the ground floor of the TownPlace Suites Rochester Mayo Clinic Area, which can be found at the corner of 2nd Street and 6th Avenue Southwest. Construction work on the new shop started earlier this summer.
Spyhouse Coffee, which already has six locations and a roasting facility in the Twin Cities, announced earlier this year it would be expanding its footprint and opening its first location in Minnesota's third-largest city.
A feature that drew my attention is one you might not normally see in a coffee shop: beer taps and wine bottles. That's because Spyhouse Coffee's new Rochester location will also be selling a selection of local craft and Minnesota beers as well as a selection of wines.
According to KTTC, offering beer and wine is something Spyhouse Coffee hopes will set them apart:
“We think that crowd that comes in in the morning, grabs their coffee may stop back in the later afternoon or a glass of wine or a beer on their way home, and certainly a great amenity for the hotel guests as well,” Spyhouse Coffee Roaster market president Kevin Wencel told KTTC.
Spyhouse Coffee's website says the shop is open Monday through Friday from 6 am to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7 am to 10 pm. Rochester home to several other independent coffee shops as well-- keep scrolling to check them out!
