Whether you're new in town, lived in the area for years or just visiting, you've more than likely fought with yourself or your significant other on where to go out to eat... multiple times!  Well now there's a new site that will give you a hint as where to go and what to have (or not) when you get there in Rochester!

Scott Ohm and his wife Kris are your typical foodies, and I'm sure they'd be proud to admit it if you asked them about it in person.

"We simply just love to try a new restaurant and we love to EAT!  My husband loves to take pictures of his meal and post it so we thought… why not?" says Kris Ohm on her new website Med City Eat Beat - A Guide for Where to Eat in Rochester, MN and Beyond!

Scott and Kris make it known right away that this site is just the opinion of their own taste buds, and they are by no means professional food critics (although they'd sure like to be).

When I asked Scott on how he got started he said: "It may seem kind of strange but restaurants are a part of the reason why Kris and I moved to Rochester. We enjoy trying different restaurants, bar & grills as well as different kinds of foods. We both realized we do it way too much so we thought, why not write about our experiences so others can learn from them?

Scott goes on to say that he's spent the past 24 years "on the road" and eating in restaurants and it would have been nice to have some guidance as to where to eat.

"We feel that with all of the visitors that come to Rochester, our blog may help people find just what their looking for. The hurdle now is getting the exposure to get it out there so they can use it."

Since I know personally that Scott and his bride LOVE to travel, I then asked if any of those popular eating shows like Man vs. Food, or Triple D (Diners, Dine-Ins and Dives) inspired them to do this blog/website?

"Absolutely.  Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has to be the number one food show in our house!  I've created a list with a couple dozen restaurants on it I'd like to go to throughout the U.S. and to date I've already visited seven in Phoenix, Iowa and of course Minnesota" says Scott.

Finally, I asked Scott to rank their Top Five restaurants in Rochester so far; he said "Depending on the food we're in the mood for, our Top Five would be: Five West Kitchen & Bar, Grand Rounds Brewpub, Forager Brewery Company, Newts and The Crooked Pint."

So there you have it!  Be sure to check back to Scott and Kris' website often and look them up on Facebook to see where they've all been to eat around town.  I'll do my best to join them in the future, and maybe sneak a peek on how they go about their grading process.

In the meantime, be sure and "Like" them on Facebook here...

Here's a picture of the happy couple :)
