Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine to Provide Injury Clinic For Student Athletes
Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine is going to provide a Saturday morning injury clinic for middle school, high school and college athletes that were injured during a Friday night or Saturday morning activity.
If a student-athlete gets injured during a football game, they will be able to access the clinic on Saturday morning on a appointment and walk-in basis! The clinic is open each Saturday through Oct. 14 from 8am - Noon.
You can schedule an appointment by calling 507-226-6690 starting Saturday mornings at 7:30. They do take walk-ins, but those with an appointment will receive priority.
How awesome does this sound? I wish I had this available to me in high school, my ankles would have thanked me!
The clinic will have two physicians, as well as a physical therapist and athletic trainer on staff at the clinic to help with the student-athletes injuries. X-rays, splinting, bracing, concussion evaluation and treatment and rehabilitation exercises will all be available care options on those Saturday mornings.
You can get more information by contacts the athletic training services coordinator, Chad Eickhoff, at 507-266-3461. The clinic is located in on the third floor of the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center in Rochester.
