Minnesota Teen Dancer Selected to Perform with the Rockettes

A 13-year-old Minnesota dancer has been dancing since she was two. Her name is Savannah and she now is going to have the opportunity of a lifetime to dance on one of the biggest stages in the world.

Savannah dances at Larkin Dance Studio in Maplewood and she must really love ballet because of the role she was just selected to perform. As a former studio dancer myself I'm insanely jealous but also super impressed with this opportunity Savannah has.

Minnesota Teen to Perform at Radio City Music Hall

The big role that she was selected for was to perform at Radio City Music Hall in New York City with the Rockettes! She won't be on the famous kickline but she will be a part of their holiday show starring as Clara in the Nutcracker portion of the show.

Savannah is now in New York City, according to FOX 9, and will perform twice a day during the show season.

In December there are between 4 and 5 shows per day. It's crazy! But like I said, Savannah only performs for 2 of them which means there are other Clara's. Savannah's ballet teacher told FOX 9 that there are 3 Clara's but hundreds of thousands of dancers auditioned. She said, "'It's so rare.'"

If you were a big World of Dance fan you might recognize Savannah and that's because she was a semi-finalist on the show three years ago! And Jennifer Lopez, who was one of the judges on the show, loved her.

When Is the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall?

The Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular opens on Friday, November 17th and there are shows every day through January 1st. Good luck, Savannah, and have fun!
