New York was the first state in the country to introduce a vaccine passport last month. According to the NY Post, "the state’s program dubbed the “Excelsior Pass,” allows New Yorkers to prove their vaccination status, or a recent negative COVID-19 test, in order to gain entry to events and businesses."

Several states are considering similar programs and several others have already shot down the idea.

You most likely won't be required to carry any documentation here in Minnesota. Governor Tim Walz says he's not planning for a required vaccine passport.  According to the Pioneer Press, Walz addressed the controversial subject with state and community leaders on Wednesday and said, "I have no intention of doing vaccine passports. Our vaccine passport is, get the shot. Get the shot and get beyond this.”

Meanwhile, the average number of new cases reported across the state has risen from 675 to 1500 new cases each day. However, new cases in the Rochester area have remained fairly steady.
