Virginia, MN (KROC AM News) – A NE Minnesota man has been charged with felony assault for intentionally ramming a pickup truck into the rear of a US Postal Service vehicle at a speed estimated at 80 mph.

Arraigned this week was 56-year-old Alan Birt of Bovey. The incident happened last Wednesday in Hoyt Lakes.

The 55-year-old female letter carrier who was in the vehicle was ejected and suffered a life-threatening head injury and broken ribs.
