The 10 Sad but True Phases of Spring in Minnesota

What a nice day, especially compared to last week! It's around a 50-degree difference between last week and today. That's Minnesota this time of year for you. With the weather feeling so spring-like, it might get us thinking 'Is spring here early?'

But not so fast, we've been through this time and time again and we get fooled every time. Minnesota springtime isn't that easy. Mother Nature always likes to make us Minnesotans think that the snow and cold are behind us and then catch us off-guard with a fresh snowstorm.

In honor of our ridiculous weather this time of year, I put together the 10 phases of spring in Minnesota (plus a bonus 11th phase). It's sad but painfully true. Remember 2024 when March was our snowiest month of the winter? Yeah, that was messed up.

Where do you think we're at right now in the phases of spring? Sadly, I really think we're only in phase 1. Or MAYBE phase 4 since today is such a warm day but I'm not sure.

It's so early in the year that we are definitely going to be getting another taste of winter at some point, so we might as well enjoy the warmer weather while it's here.
