A new survey from WalletHub ranks all 50 states plus Washington DC from the best to the worst states to have a baby. There are different factors that went into these rankings, and Minnesota ended up in the top 5! All of our neighboring states ranked pretty well too.
What Are the Factors that Went Into This Survey?
WalletHub looked at many different factors to determine these rankings. These factors include the cost to have a baby, annual infant-care costs, infant mortality rate, the number of midwives and OB-GYNs per capita, the number of pediatricians and family doctors per capita, and the number of child care centers per capita.

Overall our neighboring states also ranked pretty well. Wisconsin came in at 22, Iowa at 12, South Dakota at 27, and North Dakota ranked 6.
