Happy New Year! For some reason, I was really excited to turn the calendar to 2023. I don't have any particular reason why, it's just a feeling. I'm sure there are plenty of expecting parents out there who were excited to turn the calendar too because that means their one month closer to meeting their little one! Some parents even welcomed their baby on the first day of the year, including a Minnesota couple who may have had the first baby of 2023.

First Baby of 2023

It's impossible to say which baby is the first baby born in 2023 because of the different time zones. But for the central timezone, Minnesota could very easily be home of the first baby born this year.

Her name is Isabelle and she was born at Maple Grove Hospital to her parents Ashley and Cameron. Isabelle looks very cute in a little pink bow in a photo shared by Maple Grove Hospital on their Facebook page.

Just Barely the First Baby of 2023

Isabelle was just barely born in 2023. The Facebook post from Mape Grove Hospital says that she was born at exactly midnight! That's why, even though we don't have the times of every baby born on the 1st of the year, I'm fairly certain Isabelle must be the first baby of 2023 (for the central time zone, at least). It's like she knew what was on the line and made sure she wasn't born until midnight.

If you're having a baby this year, first of all, congrats! Second of all, if you need some name inspiration, keep scrolling for the most popular baby names in each state.
