Minnesotans Can’t Get Enough Of These Beautiful Warm-Weather Destinations
Trying to keep your sanity in the middle of another cold and snowy winter in Minnesota can be tough, which is no doubt why these warm-weather destinations are so popular here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
While our winter has been snowy so far this year in the Bold North, at least we haven't had a sub-zero bout with the Polar Vortex... yet. So if you're looking to head someplace warm this winter, Midwest Living has compiled a list of some of their favorite sunny, beachy destinations-- locations that have been a favorite of those of us who call the North Star State home.

And, here's a nice touch: According to Midwest Living, you don't even have to leave the good 'ol U. S. of A. to plan a nice, warm-weather vacation this winter. They listed both Sanibel and Captiva Islands in Florida and South Padre Island, Texas as incredible places to beat the winter blues this season.
And, of course, Midwest Living started out with... Oahu, Hawaii, which is always a favorite. According to ML article, "Oahu's temperatures are perfect for year-round solar worship at Waikiki Beach, an oceanside luau in Honolulu, a hike through a rainforest or an eye-opening visit to Pearl Harbor." Yeah, it's pretty tough to beat a vacation in Hawaii, right?!?
If you're looking to dust off your passport, though, Midwest Living suggests you check out Cancun, on Mexico's Caribbean Ocean to "Swim with the dolphins, brave a salsa lesson or just lie on the beach, hoping your vacation never ends."
Midwest Living also recommended an international vacation in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, noting that "with 40 miles of beaches, a vibrant nightlife and an array of all-inclusive resorts, Punta Cana is an enticing—and affordable—winter getaway."
