13 New Slides & Attractions: Valleyfair Celebrating National Waterpark Day on July 28th

The best way to beat this Minnesota heat is to find some cold water to splash into. Taking my kids to the waterpark is easily one of my favorite summer traditions, and honestly, nothing beats the trash-talking before we line up side-by-side to see who can fly down the slides the fastest.

If you're looking to cool off, July 28th is National Waterpark Day, and Valleyfair has some awesome things planned at Superior Shores to celebrate.

If you haven't checked out Superior Shores lately (formerly known as Soak City), the huge recent expansion added 13 new slides and attractions, bringing the total to 24 distinct water experiences.

New Highlights at Superior Shores:

• Lighthouse Landing: A towering complex with three high-speed tube slides and a dual-mat racing slide built for side-by-side family competition.
• Minnow Bay: A brand-new lagoon loaded with eight kid-friendly slides and interactive splash zones designed specifically for junior swimmers.

The National Waterpark Day celebration on July 28th at Valleyfair runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and features activities like a "Seek. Solve. Splash." scavenger hunt and prize giveaways all day long.

How the scavenger hunt will work:

There are 20 numbered signs hidden in plain sight throughout Superior Shores Waterpark. At 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM, a new code will be released on our social media channels and throughout the waterpark.

For each round of Seek. Solve. Splash., you'll use clues from around the park to solve a unique 8-digit code:
Green signs = clues used to determine the locker number
Blue signs = clues used to determine the locker combination

Once you've cracked the code, find the correct locker, enter the combination, and open it to claim your prize.
