MN Group Awards Benefits to Families of Fallen First Responders
Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota organization established to offer financial support to the families of first responders who died in the line of duty has announced the payment of death benefits to the families of six Minnesotans.
A news release from the Front Line Foundation says payments are being made to the families of 28-year-old James Rogers, 30-year-old Charles Nord, and 28-year-old Kort Platenberg. The three members of the Minnesota National Guard were killed on December 5th in the crash of a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter near St. Cloud.
The foundation is also extending benefits to the family of Daryl Drusch. The Howard Lake Fire Chief suffered a fatal heart attack last month within hours of his participation in the fire department's response to an emergency call.
Death benefits are also being paid to the families of Curt and Stevel Boesl. The brothers, both volunteer firefighters, died in December after they were overcome by fumes in a silo at a farm in central Minnesota.
