My son was a huge fan of monster trucks. He collected hundreds of toys, and we built tracks for him constantly. One year, I wrapped up a small box containing tickets to a Monster Truck show at US Bank Stadium. The look on his face that Christmas morning was priceless. It was the highlight of the holiday, better than any toy.

If you have kids who are into that kind of excitement, check out the Monster X Tour coming to Rochester this winter. It's a fantastic family experience, and since the event happens in January, these tickets make the perfect surprise gift to stash under the tree this year.

The trucks will take part in a competition, which includes a race, a freestyle contest, a wheelie contest, and plenty of car crushing. You and your kiddos can even ride on one of the trucks during the Pit Party and at intermission.

Advanced tickets start at $20.50.

As you're thinking about gifts for Christmas, consider a trip to Minnesota's longest drive-thru Christmas Light Show. It opens on Black Friday and is fun for the whole family. See more below.
