There are always new fads that explode on our phones, whether it be everyone playing Candy Crush Saga or everyone taking a Snapchat of themselves driving. (Which is bad. Don't do it.) But now, we have a new game that's taking the world by storm. If you're curious to see what that game is, check out the video below. Pokémon GO is a joint effort between three companies: Niantic Labs, The Pokémon Company International, and Nintendo.

That's right, Pokémon has arrived on our mobile phones! Straying away from the RPG element, Pokémon GO is promoting walking around and catching Pokémon. Simply take out your phone, walk around your block, and you might find a wild Pikachu! I found one today on my way to work, it was hanging out downtown!

Pokémon GO boasts Augmented Reality gaming by using the camera. However, you can turn that off and have a basic background. But who doesn't want to fight a Charmander as it sits on your car's roof?

Australia was the first country to try out the public release of the game, and one of their local police stations sent out a message on Facebook telling local trainers to stay safe. There are already some hoaxes going around of people dying while playing the game, but the threat is real.

If a Pokémon spawns next to you, your phone will vibrate. To help people stay safe, Nintendo will be releasing a peripheral later this month called Pokémon GO Plus, a device that will glow and vibrate when a Pokémon is nearby and without looking at your phone, you can press it and catch it. Or the capture may fail, meaning you'll have to try again.

Pokémon GO has these places called Pokéstops, and there are many around town. Various statues, landmarks, and buildings act as these stops. Even our own wall mural is a Pokéstop, which gives you free items such as Pokéballs, eggs, and more! Check out the screenshots below I have taken to get a better look at the game! Hope to see you out there catching and training Pokémon!
