New Restaurant Signs Go Up Across from Mayo Clinic’s Eisenberg Building
I saw a Facebook post about a new restaurant coming to downtown Rochester this morning as I was having my first cup of coffee. The post from Bucky Beeman, a commercial real estate agent, showed a sign for New York Gyro.
New York Gyro is an established chain with multiple locations around Minnesota. Their menu looks tasty with gyros, rice plates, salads, and sides. Learn more about their food and where this new spot will be opening below.

What Is New York Gyro?
New York Gyro operates several locations in the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas. You can find them in Columbia Heights, in Minneapolis, and in St. Paul. They also have a location in Brooklyn Center and another in St. Cloud. Soon, they'll have a shop in downtown Rochester.
The restaurant's website explains, "our menu brings together the best of both worlds: the zest of South Asian spices and the smooth, balanced touch of Mediterranean cooking."
Diners can expect gyros and shawarmas, gyro rice platters with chicken, lamb, or falafel, wraps, salads and sandwiches. The menu also includes burgers, wings, cheesesteaks, and pizza.
Where is New York Gyro in Rochester, MN?
NY Gyro will open in the former UPS Store on West Center Street across the street from Mayo Clinic's Eisenberg Building.
The sign is up, but it looks like there's still some work to be done inside so no opening date has been announced, but we'll let you know when we hear an update.
