Late last week, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office welcomed two new dogs to their K9 unit. But what makes this story extra special is that they were adopted from Rochester, MN's Paws and Claws Humane Society.

Paws and Claws holds a special place in my heart because I volunteer there. I just love being able to show these dogs and cats some love and attention while they wait for their forever homes.

Every year, Paws and Claws helps thousands of dogs and cats find their forever homes. This year, there are a couple of special dogs that can be added to the 'adopted' list.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Office Adopts Two Dogs from Paws and Claws Humane Society

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office welcomed yellow labs Oliv and Molly from Paws and Claws to their K9 team last Thursday, the 12th. The Shelter Director, Tanya, told me that the Sheriff's Office reached out to her to specifically adopt these two dogs to their team.

K9 Molly is going to be the first-ever Crisis K9 for Olmsted County. She will join her handler, Deputy Rian Jones, helping families and deputies during and after difficult calls.

K9 Oliv will be joining K9 Huey (who was also adopted from Paws and Claws) at the Adult Detention Center as a single-purpose narcotics detection dog with her handler, Detention Deputy Franck Nourry-Cabrol.

I'm so happy that the Sheriff's Office decided to adopt their K9s from Paws and Claws. It gives these doggos a forever home, gives them an important job, and helps spread the word about pet adoption.
