If you're a Facebook user and live in Illinois you should be expecting a check in the mail soon.

Not a bad day's work for not doing much other than just having a Facebook account. I mean, besides having your privacy invaded.

That's why 1.6 million Facebook users should expect to receive about $350 in the mail says the Chicago Tribune.

Chicago Tribune:

The totals were disclosed in a California federal court Thursday during the final approval hearing for a $650 million class-action settlement over alleged violations of Illinois' biometric privacy law.

That doesn't just mean if you have a Facebook account you'll automatically get in on the action. You needed to file as part of the class-action lawsuit in order to get the dough. The deadline to take part expired this past November.

If you didn't get in, you're out of luck. While getting a check in the mail after having your privacy invaded seems to be a decent remedy, I wouldn't quite make plans for the money yet.

The Chicago Tribune says "Illinois Facebook users who filed a claim can expect to receive their checks within a few months, pending final approval and barring any appeals."
