Panhandling Ordinance Approved

Rochester will have a new aggressive panhandler ordinance in effect this coming Saturday.  The City Council gave the ordinance its second reading last night and then voted 5 - 2 in favor, without any changes.

Councilmembers Means and Wojcik voted against the ordinance.

Supporters say it will prevent aggressive panhandling. It will

apply to certain areas, such as ATM’s and public outdoor dining areas.
