Rochester, MN Humane Society is Getting a Huge, Exciting Expansion
A big expansion project will be starting soon at Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, MN and I'm so excited! I'm really happy that Paws and Claws is able to make this expansion happen so they can care for even more animals.

Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, MN
Paws and Claws has been helping homeless animals in our community since 1974. Today, thousands of animals come through the doors of Paws and Claws every year.
Since they're a non-profit, they do fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to pay for the care of these cats and dogs while they wait for their forever homes. There are also many, many volunteers who help with fostering animals, walking dogs, and playing with the cats.

Sadly, the demand only seems to be going up and Paws and Claws has had to turn away animals because they've been full.
Pretty soon, though, they'll be able to help even more animals thanks to everyone who has donated to the shelter!
Huge Expansion Project Starting at Paws and Claws in Rochester, MN
On Monday, September 8th, a big project is going to begin at Paws and Claws that will add even more kennels for dogs. 6 more in each of the dog rooms, to be exact, for a total of 24 additional dog kennels. That's 24 more dogs that they'll be able to save.
But wait, there's more!
This expansion will also be adding Paws and Claws' very own veterinary clinic, which is super exciting! The clinic will be only for the animals in Paws and Claws care, but it will allow for helping even more animals, and also help animals quickly when they need it.
Paws and Claws Needs Plenty of Dog Volunteers
I'm super excited to watch this project take place. The biggest hurdle (that I know of at least) that they'll face is getting the dogs in their care right now outside enough during the construction.
The construction project will temporarily close most of the yards that the dogs usually get let out in on rotation throughout the day. That means they need to get out on walks A LOT more, and that involves commitment from volunteers.
If you've been thinking about volunteering for Paws and Claws, now is the perfect time to do it!
