Planning On Attending One Of Minnesota’s Sunflower Fields? Please Don’t Do This!
Delightfully bright, sunflower fields draw big crowds each year for families hoping to enjoy nature's beauty or get some photos. A number of farms in Minnesota and Wisconsin offer fun tour experiences that include photo locations and props in their designated tour fields. Some even let you cut some flowers to bring home with you!
Thankfully this hasn't become a trend in Minnesota (that I know of), but I am hoping it doesn't.
Some English farmers, who offer similar tour and photo destinations as the ones found in Minnesota and Wisconsin, are pleading with visitors to stop a wild new trend.
What's the new trend? Stripping down for naked photos in the sunflower fields. Yikes!
Don't get me wrong - the human body can be a beautiful thing. But getting naked in a public venue where kids and families (and unsuspecting adults) are walking around is not a great idea.
The owners of this fruit farm, which is also home to a sunflower field they open to visitors, have been putting up signs and posting messages on social media pleading with people to stop the behavior. The owners of the farm told CNN that they have seen several incidents (that they knew of) in just a matter of a couple of weeks of being open. They were made aware of three incidents in one day alone at one point!
The owners commented that they don't want to ruin anyone's fun, but they are a family destination. There were a few instances of kids discovering adults naked, taking risque photos in the sunflower field.
The owners commented that they've had a few instances of people taking "risque photos" over the years, but this is the first year it has become a real problem.
So if you're heading to one of the many sunflower fields in Minnesota or Wisconsin this summer, please keep the clothes on.
