Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man who told police he was shot while in the downtown a few months ago has been charged with shooting himself.

The man told police he was leaving the Thursday's Downtown event when he was shot at during the evening of Aug 19th.

At the time, police were skeptical of the man’s version of what happened.

The man told an officer “at least five rounds were fired at him in a parking ramp downtown.” A check of the cameras at the 3rd street parking ramp showed no evidence of a shooting.

A criminal complaint was filed last week against 29-year-old Kacey Kamara, charging him with submitting a false police report, reckless discharge of a gun, and two other counts.

Kamara’s brother later told police the two were waiting for an order at a coffee shop drive-through when the shooting happened. The brother said Kamara took the gun out of the glove box and was showing it to him. The brother said Kamara “racked the slide” and it accidentally fired and he was shot in the foot.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
