Elba, MN (KROC AM News) -  The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on two proposals within the Whitewater State Park. One involves the park itself.

The agency is proposing the conversion of the Gooseberry Glen campground to a day use area.It also proposes turning the former park manager’s residence into rental lodging space for campers.

An open house on the proposal will be held at the park’s Visitor Center on March 31 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Copies of the plan can also be reviewed at the center.

The other project involves the proposed restoration of a section of the Whitewater River near Elba.

The improvement project would restore about 1,800 feet of unstable channel. It includes the repositioning of 700 feet of stream channel to a former alignment.
