It’s been a pretty eventful few weeks when it comes to restaurant news here in Rochester. We’ve got some new spots opening up, and unfortunately, we just learned about one familiar place that has closed its doors for good.

New Restaurants Opening in Rochester, MN
First up, Northstone Kitchen is officially open downtown. If you missed it, this restaurant has taken over the old Salut space in the Peace Plaza. It looks like a great new option for food and drinks in downtown.
Over in Barlow Plaza, Ichiddo Ramen is expected to open by the end of the month, so if you’re a fan of a good bowl of ramen, get ready.
And in northwest Rochester, off West Circle Drive, there’s a new Mexican restaurant planning to open this fall. This eatery will move into the building that previously housed Green Mill, then Crooked Pint, and most recently, Carbone's Pizza.
Chinese Restaurant Closes in Rochester, MN
On a sadder note, Leeann Chin, located on Marketplace Drive NW near Target North, has closed permanently. The restaurant is dark, and there are signs on the door thanking customers.
“Thank you for the memories. We’re so sad to be closing our Rochester location.”
I really feel for the employees and fans of Leeann Chin. It’s always a bummer to see a restaurant close, but it’s a good reminder to support your favorites while they’re still around because you never know when they might be gone.
