Results from the Rochester Empty Bowls Event
Townsquare Media is dedicated to giving back to the community. Each year our radio-stations help local non-profits raise millions of dollars which is used to help people in need in our listening area.
On Thursday Oct. 12th Townsquare Media on-air personalities Troy Dunken, Danielle Teal and James Rabe joined 120 other volunteers at the Rochester Arts Center to help at the annual Empty Bowls event for Channel One Regional Food Bank.
Nearly 1,300 people showed up for soup and to support the cause. Close to $45,000 was raised and will be used to help feed people in need.
Channel One's, Community Engagement Coordinator, Barbara Schramm says, "In addition to raising funds that provide food for those struggling with food insecurity, the event raises awareness of the issue of hunger in our community." She explained that Channel One is thrilled with the support they receive each year, "The community has come to recognize EMPTY BOWLS as an outstanding event that benefits people in need."
