Rochester Dentist Wants Your Leftover Halloween Candy

 How much candy will kids collect this Halloween? The CDC and Minnesota Department of Health aren't recommending trick-or-treating, but The National Retail Federation says 58% of people still plan on celebrating Halloween. If your kids do end up with a massive haul and have a lot of extras they can be a part of a special campaign to send goodies to our troops.

Family Dentist Tree, located at 1011 Bel Air Lane NW in Rochester, typically participates in the Halloween Buy Back for Operation Shoebox. In past years, they've paid $1 for each pound of Halloween candy, but COVID-19 is preventing the traditional event from happening this year.

They posted the news on their Facebook page and explained that donations are still welcome. "We LOVE Halloween. We love the costumes, the candy, and we especially love our annual Halloween Candy Buyback event. We are sad to announce that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be holding our event this year. If you would still like to donate candy and cards to our troops, you can drop these items off in the bin located in the entryway of our office and we will happily send these to Operation Shoebox as we have in the past! Please drop your items off by Wednesday, November 11th during our regular business hours, Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm and Friday 7am-1pm."
