Rochester is Torn by Amazon’s Latest Technology
Amazon is at it again. They do everything they can think of to make the online shopping experience more enjoyable. Some ideas are awesome and they work, others not so much. In my personal opinion, this is a stellar idea. When I asked our listeners though, they were torn.
What is it?
Amazon wants to start doing 3D body scans to really get to know shapes and sizes. They are actually paying people to do this in New York. The long-term goal is to find clothes that fit you perfectly.
Why I love it:
As a woman, it is dang near impossible to find clothes that fit perfectly. The sizes are so inconsistent everywhere. Also, I don't have time to go to stores and try on a bunch of different outfits anymore. While I still love shopping, it's a challenge to find that extra time. The only thing that could make me happier is to see myself wearing the clothes - like on Clueless! Remember that?
What other people are saying:
Some are concerned about privacy, saying Amazon is getting too much information about us. Others just don't care enough to go through the scan.
What do you think about this? Would you let Amazon do a body scan of you to ensure your clothes fit perfectly?
