The scammers have hit a Rochester, Minnesota restaurant once again.

If you got a message in your inbox this weekend stating that you are winning $100, it probably wasn't real.  ThaiPop, a local restaurant in downtown Rochester, Minnesota shared on their social media pages that someone created fake social media accounts posing as their restaurant.

Another message from the real ThaiPop was shared with the following:

SCAM ALERT!

If you have been messaged by ThaiPopmn_ or ThaiPopmn.official on Instagram about winning $100 or any message, it is a scam. These are fake accounts!  Please report if you can.

Thank you, ThaiPop

I did some hunting to try to find the fake accounts but it looks like they may have been taken down already.

Reminder - tell your loved ones who don't "get" social media to be cautious.

We all have someone in our life that just doesn't "get" that scammers are out there in the world.  This person may be the one that clicks on every link that is sent to them in messenger that says something like, "I found you in this video!" or may even fall for a scam like the one described above or one of the 20 that are below.

Please take a moment today and remind your loved ones that these aren't real.  In fact, a lot of what we see on social media isn't real but we won't get into that at the moment.  Unfortunately, some people are just more gullible than others and they need us to remind them NOT to click on anything that seems too good to be true.  When in doubt, just don't do it.
