Rochester’s 1st Day of School Forecast

I remember being a kid and arguing about whether or not I could wear shorts to school. Today is a shorts day but we could get some stormy weather this evening. The National Weather Service in LaCrosse says: Very warm and humid conditions are expected across the area today.  Showers and thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon into tonight. Some of the storms may be severe late this afternoon and evening with damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and possibly large hail. An isolated brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Severe weather threat will switch over to heavy rain and possible flooding overnight if storms repeat over areas. Stay weather aware today into tonight and ensure you have a way to receive warnings and a plan to seek shelter should severe weather develop.
