SE Minnesota Sees Record Job Openings in 4th Quarter
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Southeast Minnesota ended 2021 with the most job openings in Minnesota.

That’s according to fourth quarter data from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. DEED’s Job Vacancy Survey for the fourth quarter of 2021 showed the area had 18,827 vacancies.
It’s the most openings ever recorded for a fourth quarter but a drop from the second quarter of 2021 by nearly 2,700 openings. The survey found 29% of job vacancies in the region were part time, 6% were seasonal, 50% required a certificate or license and 30% required a post-secondary education. The median wage for open jobs in southeast Minnesota was $17.39.
