Smithsonian Exhibit Coming to Rochester!
Typically if we want to see something on display at the Smithsonian we would have to travel to D.C. Well, this time the exhibit is traveling to us!
The exhibit called "Genome: Unlocking Life's Code" will be at the Rochester Art Center on June 23rd - September 21st. The exhibit is meant to create an engaging, interactive and educational experience for visitors to learn more about genetics and how it impacts our lives.
The program director at the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine, Timothy Curry, M.D., Ph.D., is the one who led the effort to bring this exhibit to Rochester. In a Mayo Clinic's Individualized Medicine blog, Dr. Curry said, "we are excited to sponsor the exhibit so that visitors can learn firsthand about the science behind genomics as well as how it is already enhancing the lives of patients through individualized care."
Genetics can have an impact on your future health so it's important to learn more about your genome - "the complete set of instructions that help your body grow and function."
