Last weekend it was a blizzard, this past weekend we had record-setting cold and now is ANOTHER winter storm eyeing southeast Minnesota?

The 2018 - 2019 meteorological winter season, including the months of December, January and February, was one for the record books in Rochester. It was the snowiest meteorological winter (they call it that because, technically, according to the calendar, it'll still be winter until spring starts March 20th) ever, with 68.2 inches of snow during those three months, which is 33 inches above normal. Then, we set a record Sunday for the coldest-ever high temperature (a whopping -1) on March 3rd.

But even after all that snow and cold, it looks like Old Man Winter may not be done with us just yet. According to several different Minnesota weather experts, there's yet ANOTHER winter storm that is taking shape that could affect us this coming weekend.

The National Weather Service Twin Cities office said on their Twitter page yesterday, that, yes, there IS another winter storm brewing out there. "There's been a pretty consistent signal for a couple of days now of a winter storm this coming weekend somewhere over the Upper Midwest. Right now the storm is north of Japan, so it's waaaayyyy too early to speculate on amounts for any location," the site said.

Meanwhile, KARE 11 Meteorologist Sven Sundgaard thinks we could be in for more of the cold and snow this weekend too, saying on his Twitter page, "Oh March, why do you treat us this way? Models creating a potential big storm for next weekend..."

And the Weather Channel's 10-Day forecast for Rochester calls for a wintry mix Friday into Saturday, then changing into all-snow with the possibility of 3 to 5 inches next Saturday night into Sunday morning.  Ugh!
