Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - More than five feet of snow. That’s what Rochester had to deal with during its 2018-2019 winter and that was the most ever recorded in the city for the season.

The National Weather Service has just released its official numbers for Rochester’s 2018-2019 meteorological winter (Dec 1st - Feb 28th) and they showed the city received 68.2 inches of snow during those three months, which is 33 inches above normal. Most of it fell in February - a whopping 40 inches, the most ever for the month of February and the second highest for any month (record is 41.3 in December 2010).

All that snow set another record - it was the wettest winter ever with a precipitation total of 6.3 inches and again, most of it was recorded in February - a record 2.97 inches.

And yes, it was a cold winter.

The NWS says the average temperature during the three month was 15.7 degrees, nearly 3 degrees below average. The coldest temperature during the season was -30° on January 31.That was the coldest temperature during a meteorological winter since 1996.
