There’s a special place in hell for people like this.

It was a hot and miserable weekend for most of the country with temperatures climbing into the 90's Friday and Saturday. What's worse, heat indexes reached triple digits for many in the Midwest... But its what happened to two tiny puppies in the Twin Cities that makes me sicker than any heat related illness could possibly do as they were found locked inside a dumpster.

According to Bring Me The News, a Good Samaritan found them when taking out their trash, and the pups were brought to the South Metro Animal Emergency Care in Apple Valley, with one of them later dying.

Heather Judge, who's one of their veterinary technicians, posted the picture of the surviving puppy on her Facebook page. She said the dogs were locked in a "filthy kennel" that had been placed inside the dumpster somewhere in the south metro.

There isn't a reasonable answer out there that would warrant this kind of act to an innocent animal. I don't care what's going on in your life, there is no excuse for this to happen. Ever.

Thankfully this story has a happy ending, as the puppy pictured above has a new home! When I reached out to Heather, I asked her what happened to the little guy and she confirmed that one of her co-workers adopted him, and named him Willie Nelson. What's even cooler, is he already has another dog named Waylon Jennings! Awesome.
