Starbucks Changes their Employee Dress Code, Here’s What Minnesotans Can Expect
The internet is abuzz with the news that Starbucks has announced a change in their dress code. At first, I was scrolling too fast and thought it was a dress code for customers! But no, it's a dress code update for employees, and I actually kind of like it.

Changes Happening At Starbucks
Starbucks has been making a few changes over the past year or so.
One change was implementing the rule that you need to order something or you can't just hang out in a Starbucks (makes sense).
Another was going back to baristas writing on cups, which definitely adds more of a personal touch even if they don't spell your name right.
Starbucks also brought back their reusable mugs for those sticking around the coffee shop and being able to get free refills of their drip coffee.
And finally, Starbucks has paired down their menu.

All of this, as Fast Company writes, is "a back-to-basics approach to grow back its sales."
And now, a new change coming is to the employee dress code.
Starbucks Updates Their Dress Code
Starbucks is well-known for a few visual pieces: their Siren/Mermaid mascot and their signature Starbucks Green.
Starbucks employees have been sporting Starbucks Green aprons since 1987. With this dress code update for employees, it's going to really make those aprons (and the color) the star of the show.
Starting May 12th, all employees will be required to wear a solid black top, either short-sleeved or long-sleeved and crewneck, collared, or button-up, along with any shade of "khaki, black, or blue denim bottoms."
This move is to make the green aprons pop and to "create a sense of familiarity for our customers, no matter which store they visit across North America."
Starbucks is also creating a line of company-branded t-shirts for this purpose and employees will be able to get two at no cost to them if they would like.
I personally really like this change. It's a subtle change that will actually make a big visual difference. It'll look classy and uniform, which seems to be what Starbucks is going for in the little revamp they seem to be doing at the moment.
