‘Stop Calling 911 For Road Conditions’
Several major roads are still closed following the most dangerous blizzard in recent history. While it's bad out there, the Minnesota State Patrol wants to remind drivers that 911 is for emergencies only. For more information or to report road conditions, call 511.
According to Troy Christianson, MN State Patrol Sargent, I-90 remains closed from Rochester to Winona. I-35 is also closed (both directions) from the Iowa border to Owatonna because of 7 foot snow drifts. Be careful out there!
The National Guard was called into parts of Southeast Minnesota to assist in rescuing motorist that was stranded on the side of the road. It was even difficult for them to move, and they had a tank. Did you see that even a military truck got stuck?
The snow is also being blamed for damaging a historical landmark near Rochester. The roof on the famous covered bridge near Zumbrota collapsed Sunday. Click here to read more.
