A news release issued by the governor’s office says Fillmore, Houston, Mower, and Winona Counties will receive the emergency assistance.

A Mower County deputy later found her severely damaged vehicle in a ditch along a rural road.

The crash occurred on Highway 56 near Austin.

The victim was shot in the back after he opened his front door and found a gun being pointed at him.

Police say the victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The State Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash shortly after 2 p.m. The drivers were the only people involved in the collision.

The southeast Minnesota County was in the bullseye of two storm systems that hit in less than a week that produced heavy rainfall totals that prompted flash flooding.

He admitted supplying her with fentanyl the day before she died.

Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik says heavy rainfall Wednesday night into Thursday morning has caused widespread flooding throughout Mower County.

The incident was reported early Monday morning.
