The ice is still frozen and it is times to take the kids out onto the lake! The Minnesota Department of National Resources has an awesome special on to help you get the kids outside and their fishing pole in the water!

Anyone over the age of 16, that brings a kid ice fishing, gets to fish for the weekend without an angelers licenses! That is just for this weekend, Jan 13-15, as they are promoting ice fishing.

Jeff Ledermann is the angler recruitment and retention supervisor with the Minnesota DNR, and he is pumped about this weekend, as it helps grow fishing.

"Ice fishing is a fun way to get outdoors in the winter,” Ledermann said. “This weekend is a way to encourage anglers to get out and take a kid fishing.”
